New Reviews Upcoming

Feb 16, 2012 - 10:03 pm

No content in quite some time however that will be changing. With new releases by the Heartless Bastards and Band of Skulls we will be reviewing both albums shortly.

In the meantime a write up of a few random albums from Black Mountan and the Black Angels will be going up. Have listened to a lot of music since last reviews so it's more of a matter of writing than listening.

Stay tuned!

Looking for friends

Aug 22, 2011 - 6:35 pm

While we are back and ready to keep viewers constantly informed of both old and new rock albums, we would like to reach out and make some friends, in website speak that means link exchange. If you have a website, or even a blog we'd love to exchange links. Simply contact us and give us your link and website name (or button instead of link) and link to us either on a links page or somewhere in your website. Wherever you put our link we'll put yours.

That's pretty much all this post is about, just stay tuned for more content upcoming.

New Reviews - 8/17

Aug 17, 2011 - 11:56 pm

The first time for a post like this since, well longer than I want to say. Nonetheless the reviews should continue coming in with a mix of old and new artists. Today is Innerspeaker by Tame Impala and The Mountain by the Heartless Bastards.

Sometime this week a few more will go up, possibly ones like Led Zeppellin - Psychical Graffiti, The Black Angels - Passover and a few other possibilities.

New Reviews - 10/23

Oct 23, 2010 - 7:41 pm

It's been a while since new reviews and I forgot to post about the "Who's Next" and "Axis Bold as Love", so those two have been up for a few weeks in addition to 3 added just today alone!

We should have a few more up pretty soon, most likely "Cosmic Egg", "Live at Leeds" and "Abbey Road" though that is definitely subject to change.

New Reviews, New rating system - 09/12

Sep 12, 2010 - 12:56 am

Two separate updates today, first is a new rating system. Currently the album scores will stay as a 10 point scale but songs are now out of 5, so don't freak out seeing "Wake Up" rated a 5.0, that's a perfect score.

The main reason is songs didn't really warrant such a scale for such a small item, just a 2-9 minute item. Also it makes things such as perfect scores more common in a good way. A perfect 5/5 is a lot different to me than a perfect 10/10 as silly as it may sound - some of the more classic songs will be getting a perfect 5 (such as "Look into the Future" song, "Wake Up", "Hung up on a Dream", etc.) where they deserve it but on a larger 10 point scale you probably would never see one.

Anyways what viewers are more interested in, new reviews. Just two but there will likely be as much as 4-5 in the next week, for sure 2-3 in the next few days so stay tuned!

New Reviews - 09/02

Sep 02, 2010 - 12:48 am

Figured an update was warranted. No content in a while, but before the break the infamous Zombies album was reviewed and just up now, Arcade Fire's debut album "Funeral".

Expect much more in the coming week, such as Journey's underrated "Look into the Future" and one of my all-time favorites - "Live at Leeds".

More Reviews coming

Jul 17, 2010 - 10:32 pm

Content is slowly coming in but should pick up some - just recently I finally did the Revolver review and as well reviewed my all-time favorite album - Quadrophenia. Additionaly, by the time this is read, a review of the infamous Traffic album "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" should be up.

With the release of a new AdaptCMS 2.0 beta, there will also be more "site" work. Expect some user-features to be rolled out to encourage user usage. Stay tuned!

Welcome to Rock Reviews!

Jul 05, 2010 - 10:02 pm

This is a small, experimental site to not only test out the abilities of AdaptCMS, but to have fun posting some reviews and ratings of old rock albums - the best music, yet not covered anymore.

How did this get started? I figured having a music db would be a good test for the new AdaptCMS 2.0, but then got to thinking I could have it a bit more serious - reviews and ratings.

Enjoy and post comments, with some activity I would love to make this not only a single reviewer site but one with the community posting reviews.
