A pleasant surprise. Other than "Woman" and perhaps "Vagabond", all of these songs are pretty well unknown and for a few in particular it's a shame. The only "weak" tracks are Love Train, maybe Witchcraft and Apple Tree - a White Stripes vocal type song that seems way out of place.

On the other hand the standouts start with the hit "Woman", but also dimension and the best of the album - "Where Eagles have been". The rest that lie in-between are either very good or at least solid songs.

With that out of the way - the biggest knocks have been it's very obvious inspirations from classic rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, White Stripes and the like - no one is going to deny that. But quite oddly to me, it's been perceived as a huge negative by a lot despite the extreme wanting of a new rock band that mixes late 60's/70's rock music with a new twist which Wolfmother does in both there albums and definitely here.

There are parts that remind me of Zeppelin and the like, but I see it as a good thing and one of the draws to get this album, other than just being really good. It's not perfect by any means but there are only a few mediocre ones and the album seems to be varied enough for repeated listens. If you're trying to get into current rock music or just want to hear a band from the 70's that is producing new content, this is your album.
