Review

Surprisingly, I liked this album the first time I heard it. And usually I'm the exact opposite - I rarely "really" like an album from an artist I haven't heard or sometimes even artists I like on the first listen.

But starting with Care of Cell 44 I liked this album instantly. Now I like it more on additional listens and there really is no weak track. I don't like "Rose for Emily", "Changes" and "I Want Her She Wants Me" as much but it's not a bad thing. The other 9 songs are simply fantastic and those 3 I would say are pretty good.

I went into listening to The Zombies for the first time with a combination of high hopes (considering how extremely well rated they are as well as this classic album) and also some lowered expectations, forced, so I wouldn't be disappointed if it wasn't awesome. But I found out even after just the first listen, that this album definitely lives up to the hype.

It's not a perfect album, really is there such a thing? And maybe I'm caught in the hype, but I truly did have high expectations and was blown away and now I just wish they had been around longer. A must have album.
