Review

AC/DC is one of the more controversial rock bands. Not only the music itself that they produce but the tale of two singers - Brian Johnson and Bon Scott. And unlike some other bands, it seems most AC/DC fans are split between either liking one or the other. I won't get into who I think is better yet.

Nonetheless, Highway to Hell is considered one of the best AC/DC albums of the time and usually regarded as the best of the Bon Scott era and it's understandable why. There is basically no weak track on this album. The lowest rated is a 3.9/5 and 4 songs a 4.5-4.6/5. (which comes out to a 9.0-9.2) Those four are the best of the album - Highway to Hell, Night Prowler, Walk All Over You (#1) and If You want Blood.

But Girls Got Rythm, Beating around the Bush, Touch Too Much and Shot Down in Flames are also very good songs and the remaining two are solid ones. Not only do many of these songs get stuck in my head, but this is an album that will get repeat plays. But obviously if AC/DC is not your forte your not going to magically like this album - they aren't anything revolutionary, they are simple and basically consist of an ongoing beat, riffs, etc. with the infamous Scott/Johnson voice - you may get a few surprises (like a chorus in If you Want Blood), but nothing that different.

But there's nothing wrong with that. It's a hard rocking album with classic AC/DC vocals and great instrumentals and it's simple, but it works.
